Nuri’s love for people really showed when she built her non-profit organization, the Indonesian Three Magnolias’, Inc (Tiga Cempaka), which helps women and children through education and community trade skills in Indonesia. She is the founder and also the president for that organization.
Aside from that, Nuri is also a Master of the kebaya at the Art of Kebaya Maryland, which is also a non-profit organization. Supported by the Maryland State Arts Council, Nuri developed an apprenticeship program to teach kebaya making and to introduce Indonesian culture to the community.
Nuri loves outdoor activities and she is into agricultural, and this is why she also owns a farm in Winslow, Maine, called Winter Place Orchard, LLC. She is the owner and the farmer on that farm at the same time.
Nuri was born in Padang, and spent her years growing up in Jakarta. She relocated to the US in 2004, and lived in Maine for several years. In 2010 Nuri moved to Massachusetts, and finally moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 2015. Nuri said her passion to help others made her founded those non-profit organizations. And now Nuri joins Srikandi Baltimore, so together with her friends, they can collaborate to help other women even further to grow and improve their economic ability.
